Song is an outfielder born in 1999. He joined LG as 67th overall in the second and seventh rounds in 2018. Song became the homerun king with six homeruns in the 2022 exhibition game. He continued to hit hard at exhibition games in the 2023 season. However, he failed to bring this upturn to the regular season. 

However, this season was different. Although there are still two games to play, he has four hits in eight at-bats against the Lotte Giants during the regular season, displaying robust hitting performance of .500 in batting average. At the game on Sunday, he hit a solo home run over the left fence off bullpen pitcher Park Jin-young with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. The flying distance was 119 meters and the hitting speed reached 172 kilometers. 

After the game, Song said, "I was going to take my swing. I paid attention to accuracy. I took this into consideration because my swing got bigger after hitting a home run. There were people around me who gave me advice including coaches. I thought that hitting the ball exactly right would bring out a good one." 

"Do you remember playing well in the trial game and being sluggish in the regular season? Of course, it's only two games, but I think I can hit well now because of previous events," he said calmly. 

In particular, he expressed his gratitude to the trustworthy coach Yeom Kyung-yeop. "I want to say thank you so much for believing in me. I want to repay my expectations," Song said. 

"Still, I think it's right that I can play with ease through the opening series. I'm also trying to keep my mind calm," Song said. 

Finally, Song Chan-eui said about the home run, "I thought it hit me well, but I was happy to move on," adding, "I got goosebumps from the fans' shouts."
